Nicolás Aznárez

His career began at the early age of sixteen years old. He knew he loved production before realizing that this would be the best job for him, so he started as Production Assistant of a local Production Company.

After a peculiar business opportunity he bought a small part of the company he worked in, turning into the Producer. “Indias” was specialized in documentaries for local television (“Punta del Este al Mundo”, “Reporte Atlántico Sur”, “Colonia Conquista”, among others).

After a brief experience (1994-1996) in an international advertising agency Foote Cone Belding (Paraguay) and realizing that his vocation was oriented towards the film industry he came back to Montevideo, hired by “Mojo Film,” the production company of Leonardo Ricagni. During that time he worked with foreign production companies, such as Telemaz (GR), Great Guns (UK), Production International (UK), and clients such as Vodafone, Expedia, Plasmon, Super Bock, Schweppes and Moet Chandon, proving that Uruguay is a reliable, affordable and safe place to shoot.

Since 1999 he started to manage the company and in the following years he shot in Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Venezuela, and was even part of the production of a commercial for FEDEX, directed by the renowned Joe Pitka, in Bolivia, entitled “Stanley Cup”.

In March 2002 he moved to Los Angeles (USA), hired to manage the Latin division of the production company of Lawrence Bender and Quentin Tarantino, A Band Apart. As Executive Producer he worked with the biggest American agencies (DDB, Y&R, Euro RSCG, The Richards Group, Del Rivero Messianu DDB, etc.), there meeting his future partner, Chris Romano.

Together, in November 2004, they decided to create El Camino Films, what implied his return to Uruguay, where they opened their offices.

El Camino was quickly able to position itself as one of the best options in Uruguay, being the first company, specifically dedicated to the performance of Production Services for international markets.

Production Companies of USA, Canada and Europe began to trust with said services, recognizing Uruguay’s advantages, facilities and beauties.
